CONNECTED OBJECTS
Modern technologies allow you to continue to live in your home safely. There is currently a whole series of objects that follow you daily at home and when you travel. The website of the Alerte association gives you a good overview:
The connected watch : equipped with a configured GPS, it sends a notification to relatives if the user moves away from his usual area (place of residence). It detects falls and, if necessary, it geolocates the person and warns relatives and/or emergency services. Many apps (small programs) allow you to add other useful functions.
The anti-fracture belt: equipped with 3D sensors, it not only detects falls to report them immediately, but also protects its user thanks to airbags reducing the risk of hip fracture.
The anti-dehydration cup : already adopted in nursing homes and soon to be offered to individuals, the glass is equipped with sensors capable of sending back data relating to the user's hydration to ensure that he is drinking enough. It emits a light signal to remind its user to hydrate during the day.
The connected LED bulb : the bulb is equipped with integrated motion detectors which gradually illuminate the path of a senior during the night. This device prevents many falls at home.
The connected cane : equipped with a GPS and sensors, it is much more than a travel aid. Families can geolocate their loved one wherever they go, and show them the way to go so they don't get lost.
The smart pill box : thanks to the classic pill box, taking medication is already made easier by avoiding any risk of forgetting or overdosing. On the other hand, the smart pillbox is differentiated by its synchronization with a smartphone or tablet. It lights up when medication needs to be taken. If you forget, it automatically alerts the family or the senior's doctor.
The connected jewel : generally represented in the form of a medallion or a bracelet, the jewel is equipped with a GPS, making it possible to locate its user and alert his relatives in the event of a fall. The user simply presses a button and is in direct contact with a support center.
The connected sole : equipped with sensors intended to detect and prevent falls in the elderly, this concept is discreet, being placed in the shoes of the user. In the event of a fall, the sensors alert relatives by SMS, without having to subscribe to a telephone or internet subscription.
Connected Wheelchair : Intel developed the “Connected Wheelchair” project in collaboration with astrophysicist Stephen Hawking. This technology makes it possible to transform any wheelchair into a connected wheelchair. An application recognizes the routes taken by its user, records information on the accessibility of places, retrieves health information (body temperature, heart rate, etc.) and alerts emergency services in the event of a problem. You can also plug in your mobile phone or tablet to charge it.
